The Origin Story.
Years ago, I decided that I was going to rework a screenplay I had written in college and try to sell it. As I dug into it, I found myself most fixated on the Detective, a minor character in the original. It started getting obsessive. I realized that I didn’t want to rewrite a high school thriller. I wanted to write a noir-inspired detective story.
I started brainstorming and plotting, and before I knew it, I had a hardboiled detective sleuthing in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic world. I wanted a tough guy detective who had to embrace vulnerability to become stronger. I wanted a post-apocalyptic world that was beautiful and thriving. I wanted a thrilling adventure story that explores the issues of morality, division, and resilience. So that’s what I’ve created!
