My Top10 Sci-Fi Horror Films

IMG_7331.JPG

I love a good scare. There is just something about it that reminds me that I'm still breathing. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always liked curling up in the dark with a blanket and a horror movie. I prefer my scares with solid sci-fi twist. Here are some of my favorites.

Any that you think are missing? Any of these that you hated? Let me know in the comments!

1. 28 Days Later
This is one of my favorite films of all time. The screenplay, acting, direction and cinematography are all on point. Plus sprinting Zombies.

2. Aliens
Game over, man. This tops the original because the place is crawling with one of the best sci-fi creatures of all time. And Ripley is such a killer character. Literally.

3. The Thing (1982)
Heebie jeebies in the snow. Some of the special effects are slightly dated but it still packs some serious scares.

4. Get Out
This is more suspense than true horror in my opinion, but I couldn't stop thinking about it.

5. The Ring
This one kept me awake at night. Really well done and very creepy. More than a few scares that made my butt leave the couch.

6. A Quiet Place
One of the spookiest parts of horror films is when characters have to creep around in complete silence. Turn that concept into a full film and you've got a winner.

7. 10 Cloverfield Lane
Another film that leans more toward suspense but still gets under your skin. Great acting and a haunting plot line.

8. Alien
An absolute classic. This movie ushered in a whole new era in alien-centric horror.

9. Predator (1987)
The idea of being hunted in a jungle by an invisible creature with futuristic weapons gives this sci-fi classic a primal twist.

10. Annihilation
This one made to the list for its unique concept and exceptional special effects. Beautiful and deadly. I had a few gripes with the execution but still really enjoyed the experience.
